Tekla goes on the road in India. Students and faculty are taking part in live interactive Tekla for Education workshops. On February 6th, 30 students and faculty participated in a 1 day hands-on training class at Goa University.  One week later, February 14th, more than 50 students convened in the College of Civil Engineering at YCC University.  The students are all engaging in how to efficiently use Tekla’s BIM Software, Tekla Structures, in construction management.

The main focus of the workshop was to showcase the capabilities of Tekla BIM Software for efficient construction. The program was started by exhibiting some hallmark projects done on Tekla BIM solution and state of the art Tekla BIM software benefits. Following are the topics on which demonstration has been given:-

  • Rapid 3D Modelling
  • Steel & CIP tools built in Tekla
  • Automatic Rebar detailing by using Tekla tools
  • Automatic Drawing & Reports generation
  • Model organizer
  • Scheduling and tracking of projects
  • 4D visualization

“I thank Tekla to conduct this special workshop for YCC Engineering College students on BIM technology. I wish our students will take full benefit of this session by learning this cutting edge technology which they can use during this workshop, “Prof. Dr. DR. A.M. Pande, Director, College of Civil Engineering.

On February 20 – 21, Tekla India hosted its first Faculty Development program along with its training partner Intek Educational Services.  This event brought together 12 engineering colleges, 36 faculties, & 110 students.  The goal of the event was to impart knowledge of Tekla BIM technology and its benefits to the Indian construction industry.  The 2 day workshop, showcased Tekla Structures with a specific focus towards reinforced concrete.  All participates were taught real life construction concepts and the use of Tekla Structures to bring automation and efficiency in construction.

Speaking on the occasion Dr C Sundarraj, Principal said ““Latest technology like Tekla BIM solutions will really help our students to get an edge over others. We are really impressed with the benefits of Tekla software and wish to promote the same among our students. We are planning to introduce a special incentive among students and faculties who will use Tekla BIM technology for any research work”.

The Spring roadshow will then conclude in Madras at the CEA Fest at Institute of Technology Madras, where the students will take part in a modelling competition.
