Curved bolting, and curved reference line
11.08.2016 10:56

Hi Guys! I am designing a self-supporting steel arch hall, and I ran into the issue, that I cannot bolt in a curve. The reference line of the bolts is straight, but trying to bolt together two curved surface ends up the bolts sticking out the profile. With shorter distances it's ok, but with longer distances, the whole bolt could be out of the profile. Another problem is that if we set a curve radius in beam properties, the reference line (of the beam) stays where it is, wont be curved. I found an extension for this, but it requires Tekla Maintenance, so it's out of the question and I believe it would not help to solve the problem of curved beam reference line either. I used polybeam instead of setting a radius, to follow the curve of the arch. Do anybody have faced similar issue, or have a solution?
